Holm & Grut designed this 800-seat church in Argir, just south of Tórshavn, in the shape of a ship under sail — its 42-metre tower rises like a halved pyramid, and inside, a stairway nicknamed Jacob's Ladder climbs up into the spire. Built through the 1970s on the site of a former leprosy hospital turned poorhouse, sources differ on whether the church was finished in 1974 or 1978, though its organ, installed by Verland Johansen, is dated 1974.
