Greenland's oldest surviving house and its first built in European style, this yellow-painted stone building was originally Hans Egede's residence, disassembled and moved along with the rest of the colonial settlement when it relocated to its present site in 1728. It later served as the official residence of Greenland's prime minister, and today the historic monument is used for official government receptions.
