Sankt Johannes kyrka

Axel Anderberg — better known for grand public commissions like the Royal Swedish Opera and the Swedish Museum of Natural History — designed this church to relieve overcrowding at Malmö's St. Peter's and St. Paul's parishes as the city's population grew. Approved in 1901 and begun in 1903, construction delays pushed the inauguration back to Holy Trinity Day, 1 June 1907. Built in red brick on a granite foundation with a 60-metre tower at its northern end, it's one of relatively few churches in Sweden built in the Art Nouveau style.
