Crown Chamberlain Börje Cronberg had this building put up in the 1660s, possibly to designs by Nicodemus Tessin the Elder, occupying the entire Achilles block at the corner of Slussplan and Skeppsbron. Its original form was a main building facing the water with two narrow wings running west. The building has been reworked more than once since — by Fredrik Lilljekvist in the 1890s, and again in the early 1970s under architect Anders Tengbom — leaving a structure that layers three different centuries of renovation over Tessin's original footprint.
