Prismet

Investment group PFA Byg built Prismet between 1999 and 2002 to a design by Friis & Moltke, giving Aarhus its first building over 50 metres tall in the city centre since the early 1970s. Its triangular floor plan and sloping roof earned the building its name — Danish for 'the prism' — and its near-black glazed facade sits in deliberate contrast to the clinker-brick buildings nearby, including the half-timbered houses of the Old Town Museum it overlooks. That contrast has drawn criticism for disrupting the museum's medieval illusion, but the 63-metre tower remains one of the tallest buildings in the city.
