Architect
Lars Sonck
Completed
1924

Lars Sonck designed Arena House as an office and commercial building completed in 1924, later in a career that had made him one of the leading figures of Finnish National Romanticism at the turn of the century. By the 1920s Sonck's work had moved toward a more restrained classicism, and this building reflects that later phase, standing today as one of the more understated commissions from an architect better known for the rugged granite churches and towers of his earlier years.
