Didrichsen Art Museum

Viljo Revell designed this seaside villa in Kuusisaari for the shipping magnate and art collector Gunnar Didrichsen and his wife Marie-Louise, completing it in 1965 as a home built explicitly around the couple's growing collection of modern and Asian art. After Marie-Louise Didrichsen's death, the family converted the house into a public art museum in 1965, and it remains one of the few Revell-designed private residences open to visitors, its low horizontal forms and garden setting largely unchanged from the original commission.
