Alvar Aalto designed the headquarters and warehouse for the Southwestern Finland Agricultural Cooperative in 1928, one of his earliest large functionalist commissions and a building that shares the same emerging vocabulary he would develop further at the Turun Sanomat offices two years later. Combining office space, retail, and grain storage in one block, it reflects the practical, mixed-use programme typical of the agricultural cooperative buildings Aalto designed across several Finnish provincial towns in this period.
